Smoke Dectector Installation

Smoke detector batteries are backups to hardwire systems installed in homes constructed from 1997 and newer. Batteries should be checked every six months. Batteries have expiration dates; changing the battery annually is optional if checked bi-annually and adequately maintained. Smoke detector devices are good for ten years.
